How to keep with kids entertained these school holidays

The school holidays are fast approaching, which means you have a whole 2 weeks of free time to fill for them! To ensure they are kept entertained and not glued to the TV or computer screen for 14 days straight, some planning is called for!

We’ve put together a quick guide on just how to ensure the kids are kept entertained these holidays, as well as some fun activity ideas to make your life that little bit easier!

1. Plan!

Sit down with the kids and have a brainstorming session of things they want to do. Also do some research on the Internet to see what’s on in your area; there’s always something going on at the local shopping centre or parks in the holidays. Write all the ideas down; even if you don’t get to them this holidays, you never know when you might be stuck of ideas in the future or need something to do on a rainy day!

Then, narrow the list down to the kid’s favourite and doable ideas.

2. Create a calendar or schedule for the 2 weeks

Once you’ve narrowed the list down, create a schedule of exactly where and when these activities will take place! Mark out the activities on the calendar so you have a clear overview of what the holidays will look like – that way you can add or remove activities and schedule other commitments accordingly.

Using a Justick board and calendar template, cross of each day as it goes – not only does this make for an orderly and efficient household, but it gives the kids something to look forward to as they see the dates approaching!

3. Take plenty of photos

Take photos of the kids at each activity or outing. At the end of the holidays, you can then print them out and display them on your Justick so the kids can remember the fun holidays they had.

You could also get the kids involved in making up a photo collage with all the photo memories from the holidays. Justick Minis are perfect for this! Once the holiday schedule is finished with you can easily remove the calendar and schedule templates and allow the kids to turn it into a fun photo board. What’s even better, is that Justick’s done require any pins like traditional photo boards, so it’s totally safe to allow the kids to take control of the photo board project!
